What is SEO and why is it important for your website

What is SEO?

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a digital marketing tool that helps you make your website more visible on Google’s search engine. The better optimization of your website is, your website is going to be higher ranked on search engine. It can be shown on the first page or even on top of the first page.

But why is it so important?

With better SEO and the higher your ranking is, you will get more clicks, increase traffic on your website and it even improves user experience that can make those customers come back again.

Important points of good SEO:

  • Visibly is crucial because 67,6% of internet users are more likely to click on the first 5 results when they search for something. Take advantage of that, with good SEO, your website will get rank as high as possible.
  • It’s good for the social promotion of the website. The more clicks you have on your website, the more people will find your social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and others.
  • The best and most important reason is growth. It can help you achieve many of your goals. More clicks, more traffic, more conversation on the website just means there are much more chances of hitting those goals.
  • Building trust and credibility. It establishes a good foundation for a good, beautiful website with a good user experience. That is going to help you build trust between your customers and your brand, product, or service.
  • User experience. Because Google has learned how to interpret good and bad user experiences it became an important element of a website’s success. It means Google intends to offer users the information they are looking for in fewer clicks, quickly and easily. But, if your website doesn’t do that, performance is going to suffer.

Optimization:

There are 3 types of SEO. Those are Technical SEO, On-page SEO, and Off-page SEO.

Technical SEO:

Technical SEO has nothing to do with the content of the site or its promotion. It is all about the technical side of the website. That means the settings that you need to configure for crawlers to do their job easier. The good thing about that is, once you set it right, there is a big chance you won’t need to come back to it.

On-page SEO:

On-page SEO is about content and elements that are on the pages of the website. That refers to website structure, keywords, title optimizations, headings, internal links, image SEO, structured data markup, and other techniques. The better they are the more crawlers can understand the meaning and context of your content for a higher ranking on SERP (search engine results pages).

Off-page SEO:

Off-page SEO, as the name implies, everything you can do outside of your website can help with ranking your website higher on SERP. You can increase the number of incoming links or as it’s called backlink. Backlinks are links that point from one domain to another that show trust. And if they’re coming from a good, well known and trusted source, it can greatly affect your ranking. If they are bad – like paid links or link farms, they can affect you negatively because it violates Google guidelines.
